A Little About Us
What Would Jesus Do? He Would Love First.
This is our motto at St. Katharine Drexel School. Our visitors and prospective families say they can just feel the difference when they walk through our doors. Our education community has a family-type bond, and we actively support and take care of each other.
We can’t wait to show you and your family around our school – which we are confident will soon feel like your school. We’ll see you soon!
What is different at St. Katharine Drexel?
With our small class sizes and family-type learning environment, your child will receive the personal attention they need, crave, and deserve.
We specialize in the Barton learning method for Dyslexic students, and meet each child where they are in their own learning process.
Your child will be seen, known, and loved at St. Katharine Drexel. Their SKD class will soon feel like family, giving your child the comfort they need to succeed in learning.
Meet our Principal, Maria Heymans-Becker
Hi friends and families! I’m Maria, the Principal here at St. Katharine Drexel. When you come to visit, I’m confident you’ll experience an environment where friends feel like family and the school feels like a welcoming home.
We have strong academic standards at SKD, and we really focus on developing the whole child, including emotional and social skills. We specialize in the Barton Dyslexia system, a great tutoring system for children who struggle with spelling, reading, and writing due to dyslexia or a learning disability. Our exceptional team leads by example and instills strong values in our students.
We love what we do and who we serve. We hope to see you and your students in our hallways soon!

What Our Families Say
Heather Craven
We would make any sacrifice necessary to send our kids to St. Katharine Drexel school because they maintain the Benedictine values that the school was founded on and they are unapologetically Catholic. You simply cannot put a price on the unparalleled education that children receive at SKD. While we may invest our money, the faculty and staff invest their hearts and souls into forming our children into saints and there is no greater return on investment than that.
Bennett Velline
St. Katharine Drexel helped shape me as a person not only through education, but faith as well. Having the opportunity to attend SKD prepared me fully for what came next in life, and I still think about my time there even out of high school. I feel very blessed and fortunate to have been an SKD student!
Alexa and Ross Dobberstein
The staff, community, and culture at SKD puts children and their family's development and well-being at the center of all they do, every single day. We are proud to be a part of the SKD community!
